Child Contact Issues

Nothing can be more distressing than trying to sort out when and how you see your child or children after a separation. I understand this.

I have years of experience in dealing with a wide variety of cases in this complex area of law. If possible, I will do my best to try to resolve any issues without the need for any court proceedings. However, if court is required then no-one will fight harder for you and your children.

Clients come to me because they tell me I have a reputation for getting results. However, this will always be done in a child-focused way and I will give you realistic advice about the sort of contact that is likely in the short and the long-term.

I have represented clients all over the country and dealt with many complex issues including children being potentially removed from the country or being at great risk of harm.

This area of law is also the one I feel most passionately about and find the most rewarding. Each Christmas Day I set aside ten minutes to remember all the children I have helped see their parents that year and when people ask me why I do my job, that is why.

There are many statistics that show that children who have both parents in their lives do better in life and my job is to help that happen.

Nothing can be more devasting than the thought you might not see your child. I will offer support to you and can offer a variety of options, including fixed fees for different elements of work.

I do not underestimate how difficult it is dealing with child contact issues and you will know I will give you my total commitment to helping you reunite your family.

Divorce and Finances

I am experienced in all aspects of divorce and sorting out matrimonial finances.

Whether it is running the whole case for you, or simply helping you prepare documents, or helping you at court. I will always give you costs in advance – which we will agree.

I will also advise you to the alternatives to court such as mediation or arbitration and will tailor my approach to the type of case yours is. If you need to fight, then we will fight. If the heat needs taking out of the situation then I can do that too.

Divorce proceedings are often also tied in with child contact issues and the timing of both can be crucial. How much you are seeing your child or children, can affect the outcome of any financial settlement, so it is important to get early advice.

I am also happy to work on a fixed fee basis if you just need representation at a court hearing. Alternatively, I have built up a strong network, of the best barristers across the country, who I can help you brief to ensure you get the best possible result.

Most of my cases never reach a final hearing (where a Judge decides how to divide your assets). I always try to do my best to keep costs down and retain control so that decisions are yours and not left for the court to decide. I cannot disguise the fact that this can be a very stressful time of your life. My job is to support you and offer experienced guidance, so that you can look back in the future and feel you have come out of it with something fair.
